Reworking the tried and tested: The Dove Testimonials
Dove only uses real women in their ads. So we created a new style of testimonial to bring out the ‘realness’ of our commercials. Showing our Dove girl on set, telling her story, with funny faces, personality quirks and unscripted responses all included.
These set of testimonials made Dove seem fresh, modern, and relatable. It helped grow our market share in the Philippines to overtake our biggest rival, Pantene for the very first time. And it was even parodied on the Philippines version of Saturday Night Live (the Bubble Gang), which to us, was the best compliment of all.
